Representatives for the Port of Newcastle have welcomed the news that IPART has been appointed as the independent valuer under the Port of Newcastle Extinguishment of Liability Act 2022.
This appointment is one of the final steps which will enable the Port of Newcastle to compete in container trade free from penalty, a move that will future proof Newcastle as well as the surrounding areas of the Hunter, Northern and Western NSW, helping to drive jobs and investment in the region.
