Historic AUKUS Agreement To Deliver Supply Chain Opportunities

Historic AUKUS Agreement To Deliver Supply Chain Opportunities

In a tripartite deal with the US and UK, Australia has announced a plan to acquire a fleet of up to eight nuclear-powered submarines, which is forecast to cost up to $368 billion between now and the mid 2050s.

According to the Australian Government, this AUKUS defence agreement will create huge opportunities for Australian industry to participate in the nuclear submarine supply chain. It will significantly contribute to skills development in Australia, with the generation of approximately 20,000 jobs via upskilling and skill sharing.

Whilst it is currently unclear what percentage of the AUKUS supply chain Australian companies will constitute, organisations will have the chance to participate and gain from these prospects for many years to come.
