Grant Targets Sales Growth For Australian Vegetables

The Australian government has awarded a grant to Australia’s peak body for vegetable growers, Ausveg, to help improve market access and export development activities for Australian vegetables in Europe via a study tour to the UK and EU.

The tour will provide horticulture growers a unique opportunity to learn firsthand about the social, economic and governance compliance requirements on UK and EU growers and what expectations will be on Australian exporters to meet the same requirements.

With the UK and EU becoming increasingly important key export markets, combined with the UK Free Trade Agreement, this grant has come at an optimal time for Australian producers as it will enable Ausveg to reach new consumers and promote Australia’s world-leading food safety, sustainability and worker welfare standards, assisting to ensure our competitiveness.
