GLOBAL OCEAN FREIGHT UPDATE

GLOBAL OCEAN FREIGHT UPDATE

Global shipping is continuing to experience delays across numerous ports and vessels. For example, global carrier schedule reliability is down to 39% and vessel arrivals are experiencing an average delay of 6-7 days.

As a consequence, the available allocation across all carriers, as well as equipment availability will be impacted for the upcoming months, and as peak season progresses, there is the high likelihood that these delays will compound as demand increasingly outstrips supply.

Furthermore, market rates in all main trades have climbed further upwards, as volume pressure across Europe and the USA remains strong.

The Panama Service ex Australia & New Zealand to Europe is transitioning from a weekly to fortnightly service, with the first fortnightly service due on the coast of Australia on 30th October 2021.
