DP World Increases Landside Fees

DP World is increasing landside fees as of 1st January 2024 across its four Australian terminals: Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Fremantle.

The increases to terminal access charges (as per the DP World notice, current as at this day of publication) are outlined below:

Full export containers have increased by the following percentages:

  • Sydney: 38.8%
  • Melbourne: 52.52%
  • Brisbane: 37.50%
  • Fremantle: 5%

Full import containers have increased by the following percentages:

  • Sydney: 25.49%
  • Melbourne: 21.22%
  • Brisbane: 26.18%
  • Fremantle: 5%

According to DP World these increases are required in order to facilitate capital expenditure across all four terminals, which will cater for greater landside demand going forward. However some industry parties are speculating that these increases are being implemented in order to build up a reserve to meet the MUA’s requests.

DP World has invited industry feedback and announced that it will publish its final notice on their customer portal by 1 January 2024.
