Cairns Marine Precinct To Undergo $39 Million Upgrade

The Queensland government has announced a $39 million upgrade to the shipyard facilities and infrastructure at the Cairns Marine Precinct.

This project, which consists of the upgrade of waterfront facilities, a road upgrade, bridge, two wharves and a common user facility, will enhance capabilities and opportunities in the local ship repair and maintenance industry.

Once complete, vessels of up to 57 metres will be able to access the common user facility via the designated route and within the common user facility, the facilities will be able to lift vessels of up to 120 metres and 5000 tonnes, establishing Cairns as one of the leading maritime ports in the South Pacific.
