15 Aug VICT Offers Enhanced Container Biosecurity Service
The Victoria International Container Terminal (VICT) at the Port of Melbourne has enhanced its biodiversity protection technology through updated processes.
VICT launched its rural tailgate inspection process late 2024 as a contribution to protecting Victoria’s biodiversity at the Port of Melbourne and is now also able to remove the contamination.
This process involves a biosecurity check known as the rural tailgate inspection for every shipping container that arrives in Victoria via the three terminals at the Port of Melbourne and is to travel outside of metropolitan Melbourne.
Delivering this complete process onsite affords a multitude of benefits for customers including competitive pricing, increased efficiency via no added cost or time involved in moving the container to another location for inspection and treatment, as everything can be done onsite and the container can then be dispatched directly to where it needs to go.
