New Zealand’s Parliament Transport and Infrastructure Committee recently announced an inquiry into New Zealand’s ports and maritime sector.

This inquiry will examine the current state, challenges, and future opportunities of the sector in order to improve the performance of the sector overall and help benefit export producers and importers alike.

The inquiry will focus on the following key areas: economic contribution and efficiency, infrastructure and investment needs, regulation, governance and ownership of ports, environmental sustainability, workforce and skills development and security as well as supply chain resilience.
