NSW Ports Planning Port Botany Quayline Equalisation

The NSW Ports Quayline Equalisation Project will provide equivalent quayline length for each container stevedore company operating at Port Botany, as currently only two of Port Botany’s container terminals can berth three longer vessels, while the third container terminal can only berth three shorter vessels.

This project aims to increase efficiencies across the Port and deliver the capability for all three container terminals to berth three longer container vessels at the same time, helping to ensure that Port Botany continues to efficiently meet the state’s trade needs and provide secure and efficient supply chains for households and businesses.

As part of this project, the southern quay will be extended, and Bulk Liquid berths will be relocated and enhanced with the installation and operation of ancillary facilities such as a new bulk liquid operations building.

NSW Ports is reportedly currently preparing a State Significant Infrastructure (SSI) Application, which includes a range of technical studies in line with Secretary’s Environmental Assessment Requirements, a community engagement campaign and key stakeholder briefings.
