The federal infrastructure and transport minister Catherine King has spoken about the key role intermodals serve in facilitating the movement of freight in a rapidly changing Australia.

The integral component that is intermodal transport is the driver of national and state investment, from the $1.62billion commitment to develop Beveridge Intermodal Freight Terminal in Victoria through to the transformative role the Moorebank Intermodal Precinct serves in NSW.

These investments are just some of the initiatives underway or under discussion as there is an increasing awareness of the importance of supply chain certainty, especially when faced with external pressures such as a pandemic or major weather events.
