31 Mar Decreasing Dutch Wine Imports
Dutch wine imports declined in the first three quarters of 2025, dropping by 3.3% in value and 12.7% in volume from January to September 2025, compared to the same period in 2024.
The revenue for this period was €1.038bn for 265.3m litres of wine, which led to a 10.7% increase in the average price of wine to €3.91 per litre.
Over the same period, Dutch imports of bottled wine decreased by 3.2% in value and 12.6% in volume, amounting to €1.027bn and 260.5m litres.
Bulk wine imports saw a value decrease of 12.1% and a volume decrease of 18.5%, with a turnover volume now at €11m and a quantity of 4.9m litres of bulk wine.
The Netherlands imports most of its wine from France, Italy and Germany, all of whom exported lower amounts of wine to the nation. Conversely, Spain, South Africa, Portugal and the USA were able to improve their exports to The Netherland either in volume or value.
