BMSB Emerging Countries

For the 2018-19 BMSB season, certain goods manufactured in, or shipped from target risk countries will be subject to BMSB requirements that are shipped as sea cargo between 1 September 2018 and 30 April 2019 (inclusive).

Goods categorised as target high risk will require mandatory treatment, goods categorised as target risk will be subject to random onshore inspection. All other goods are not subject to BMSB intervention. To find out more detail about these measures please visit the BMSB webpage.

Identified emerging risk countries include Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey and Serbia. We are also targeting other countries of BMSB concern to monitor the presence of BMSB. These include all remaining European countries, Japan, China, Korea, Canada and Chile and will be monitored through random inspections.
