27 May Australasian Container Trades Grow 8.7% in 2024

With imports and export trades achieving almost equal levels of growth, inter-Australian container trade experienced a total growth of 8.7%, reaching 7,114,800 TEU over 2024.

Australasian containerised imports rose 353,200 TEU with growth experienced across North, East & South East Asia, Europe, the Middle East/Indian Sub-Continent (11.9%) and Latin America (18.5%), whilst it fell for North America and Sub-Saharan Africa. Conversely, Australasian containerised exports grew by 229,800 TEU to 2.69 million TEU with all routes posting significant gains.
