03 Jul Auckland Airport Lands A New Cargo Precinct
Auckland Airport has announced the development of a new cargo precinct.
With over 85% of New Zealand’s air cargo market currently spread out across the airport, this $30.7 million investment into the airport’s transport network will future proof Auckland’s cargo capacity and increase efficiency as all operations are to be centralised in the dedicated cargo precinct.
The completed cargo precinct will be located in Manu Tapu Drive directly adjacent to a new 250,000 square metre airfield expansion at the airport, which is due to open late 2025. It will also link in directly with the recently upgraded nearby road network, with improved road access, taking trucks off the main roads and instead sending them directly to the cargo precinct.
