16 Dec New Zealand International Trade Surges
The September quarter saw New Zealand’s international trade performance rebound strongly, with total exports reaching NZ$25.0 billion, up from NZ$22.3 billion in the same quarter last year.
This upswing reflects stronger demand, and possibly favourable global commodity conditions for key export items such as agricultural goods, dairy and meat products, which remain staples in New Zealand’s export mix.
This positive September performance underlines both the country’s continued strength and reliance on international trade at a time many economies face global uncertainty. Continued growth and performance will be determined by factors such as how imports, commodity prices and global demand evolve.
