South Korean shipbuilder Hanwha Ocean has claimed a world-first in LNG handling, successfully carrying out a ship-to-ship (STS) transfer of liquefied natural gas (LNG) between two vessels still on sea trials.

This milestone operation of the controlled transfer of the super chilled fuel – completed without incident – marks a major step forward in LNG bunkering and handling safety and the achievement of clean energy shipping.
