17 Jul Port Houston Introduces Reefer Dwell Fees
Port Houston had announced new reefer dwell fees, effective as of 1st July 2025, to encourage the movement of long-dwelling refrigerated import containers at the port.
This fee announcement is in response to their long-standing issue of dwell times, which have reached over a week, resulting in reefer volumes of 10,000+ TEUs, as Houston faces an ever-increasing number of reefer containers moving through the port, reaching 10,747 TEUs in May, which was up 40% over the same month a year earlier.
